A recent increase in international flights from Edinburgh now links the capital to 85 destinations in 25 countries.
The dome of the St Marija Assunta church in Most, Malta is the third largest in the world after St Peter’s in Rome and St Paul’s in London.
THE LAST few months have seen a significant rise in the number of international destinations with direct links from Edinburgh, as airlines continue to expand their operations from the UK’s fastest growing airport.
Ryanair, Jet2.com, Flyglobespan, Thomas Cook Airlines, Cimber Sterling and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA have added no fewer then 18 new routes between them since March with one more to follow in July. This takes the total number of international destinations reached from Edinburgh to 85 in 25 countries. Overseas traffic from Edinburgh is up around 15 per cent in the last year.
The new services are:
Ryanair – Altenburg (Leipzig), Bologna, Cagliari (Sardinia). Carcassonne, Ciampino (Rome), Limoges, Malta, Palma de Mallorca and Poitiers with Haugesund (Norway) to follow in July www.ryanair.com
