Eca Grad Fads
From the latest collection by Young Designer of the Year Holly Fulton
Edinburgh College of Art graduate Holly Fulton (BA Hons. in Fashion, 1999) was named as Young Designer of the Year at this year’s Scottish Fashion Awards. Holly, who now teaches parttime in the ECA Fashion department, is in the process of setting up her own label, soon to be stocked in the UK by Browns in London. Another ECA Fashion alumnus, Graeme Black (graduated 1989), was named as Scottish Designer of the Year. Black, 40, who runs his own label from London and Milan, counts Victoria Beckham and the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown among fans of his creations, which are chic, glamorous, yet wearable designs. The Scottish Fashion Awards panel of judges included Vogue’s Kate Phelan, supermodel Kirsty Hume and Nathalie Colin, creative director of the event’s official jeweller, Swarovski.
