FOOD It seems that Polish people love their food and owner, Dorothy Nowak-Solinska, takes great delight in sharing traditional staples from Poland with her Scottish customers. If the tongue-twister menu confuses you, just ask what to try.

The Polish meat tasting platter with salads is a great sharing dish. The rich goulash with buckwheat and barley with glazed beetroot is outstanding; we have it with the potato pancakes. Handmade classic Pierogi, Polish dumplings to you and me, come filled with sour cabbage and dried mushrooms, or stuffed with cottage cheese served with fried bacon and onion. Gorgeous and definitely shouldn’t be missed.

For pudding ask about the specials, but don’t pass up on the homemade cakes and pancakes. You won’t leave the table hungry that’s for sure. There is live music where Scottish and Polish musicians join up for a riotous evening of multicultural fun (check website for details). As you might expect there is a good selection of vodka, some unique and unusual wines from Georgia. For those that aren’t imbibing, Pani Solinska has some superb soft drinks like Tymbark juices - the blackcurrant one is to die for.
